Top Rated Chicago Criminal Defense Attorney Michael Leonard joins podcast “One Minute Remaining” to discuss controversial attempted murder case.

Mike Leonard joined Jack Laurence, the creator and host of the leading true crime podcast, “One Minute Remaining,” to discuss the controversial case of Trinity Matthisen.

Trinity is currently serving a sentence of 42 to 72 years in a Michigan prison, after being convicted of attempted murder following a jury trial. Trinity has always proclaimed his innocence.

The factual circumstances that underlie Trinity’s conviction include a fight at an after hours house party. In this episode, which is the wrap up to four-part podcast that Jack Laurence aired about Trinity’s case, Mike and Jack undertake an analysis of the evidence and the trial.

They address the key issues, including the credibility of Trinity’s own statements regarding the origin of the house party fight; the chain of possession of the firearm used in the shooting; the forensic evidence, including the ejected cartridge casings; the performance of Trinity’s defense counsel before, and during, the trial; and the jury’s somewhat strange and inconsistent verdict.
