Best Chicago Trial Lawyer Michael Leonard joins Bob Sirott to discuss top legal stories. Mike joined WGN 720 radio host Bob Sirott to discuss a number of the trending legal stories.
They discussed the new Illinois law that will make it easier for prescribers to provide patients with chronic pain opioid-based products. The law not only paves the way for prescribing such products who need it most, but allows calls for heightened confidentiality which will make it more difficult for third-parties to obtain the records regarding such prescriptions.
Bob and Mike also covered President Trump recent pardoning of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. Mike explains that, some years ago, then first-term President Trump cut – in other words commuted – the former Governor’s prison sentence. However, President Trump’s recent actions provide the ex-Governor with a full pardon. Mike jokes that Bob’s job may now be on the line – with the former Governor perhaps moving into radio.
Finally, Bob and Mike touched upon the recent United States Court of Appeals’ decision that affirmed a trial court’s (U.S. Federal District) ruling that put on hold some of President Trump’s attempts to cut or freeze federal spending.
