Top Federal Lawyers explain Hunter Biden Indictment.
An Indictment has been returned charging President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, with a number of federal criminal offenses. As was well-publicized, Hunter Biden was on the verge of a plea deal that would have wiped out these charges. However, that plea deal fell apart after it came under scrutiny from the Judge presiding over that case, as well from much public scrutiny. In addition, in that prior federal case, Hunter Biden’s attorneys had attempted to pull off a plea deal that would have shielded Hunter Biden from criminal liability in other matters, i.e., including prosecutions arising out of his conduct internationally.
In any event, the following is a summary of the recent Indictment. There are nine separate Counts. They are all tax Counts. Five of the Counts allege “failure to file” or “failure to pay” violations of 26 United States Code, section 7203. All of those are misdemeanor Counts. However, the Indictment’s other three Counts allege federal tax felonies, including one Count of failure to pay federal taxes under 26 U.S.C., § 7203, and two Counts of filing false federal tax returns in violation of 26 U.S.C., § 7206.
The Indictment goes out of its way to allege certain of Huter Biden’s alleged personal spending during the time periods at issue.
Defending against federal tax charges at trial requires federal criminal attorneys with substantial federal criminal trial experience, including experiences with sophisticated and complex federal financial crimes. The attorneys at Leonard Trial Lawyers possess that type of experience.
