Biography

Frank Swanson is a dedicated attorney who is committed to providing his clients with aggressive legal counsel throughout the life of their legal matter. Frank practices primarily in civil litigation and federal criminal defense in Illinois and Iowa, but is comfortable representing clients in all types of legal matters ranging from personal injury claims to commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Leonard Trial Lawyers, Frank worked at a mid-sized law firm in Des Moines, Iowa, representing insurance companies in the defense of lawsuits and coverage actions, as well in commercial litigation. Frank also spent time at a large Chicago firm representing insurers in coverage litigation actions. Frank is licensed in Iowa and Illinois state courts, as well as the federal courts in Iowa and the Northern District of Illinois.

In his time as an attorney, Frank has successfully represented a wide array of clients in and out of court, and at the appellate level. In 2021, Frank and his supervising attorney at a previous firm used novel legal arguments to convince the Iowa Court of Appeals to overturn a District Court ruling on behalf of a corporate client seeking fees incurred during arbitration. Core Structural Services, LLC v. Neumann Brothers, Inc., 2021 WL 2690024 (Iowa Ct. App. 2021).

Frank is a graduate of the University of Iowa (2016) and Drake University Law School (2019).
